Hi, I'm Karen. For over 25 years, I was a professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado. I studied evidence, rigor and the shape of human suffering at a population level.

In 2018, I woke up. I don't have a tidy word for what happened - an opening, a dismantling, a call - but it reordered my life. I retired from my academic position, began training in shamanic energy medicine and other holistic modalities, and worked with many people around the world. I went through my own dark night of the soul. I met the parts of me that academic life had kept quiet.

Today I work with people on a spiritual path. I am not a beginner's entry point, but rather someone who has walked the territory - recently- and who can walk it with you.
